“I had the privilege of working with Ellen over the course of many years as a volunteer committee member, and member of council, of the Ontario Association of Architects. Her commitment to excellence in professional education, conference learning and member experience was unmatched. During the Covid-19 pandemic, when the 2020 Conference was cancelled, Ellen transformed an in-person conference into an on-line Webinar Series to help ensure members could not only meet their regulatory requirements for continuous education, but meet and collaborate together, finding new ways to connect as we all experienced a new way of learning, and of living. Her consistent, clear, and concise communication methods provided members with on-going awareness of their educational needs. I have seen how her experience and openness to feedback transformed professional education, dating back to our first interactions in the early 2000s, where she heard feedback on conference sessions and committed to improving our opportunities to learn.”
